Our Impact
Since its founding, the John and Julie Cancer Foundation has mobilized musicians, volunteers, businesses, and donors across the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky region. Through fundraising events, community engagement, and generous support from donors, the foundation continues to contribute toward the advancement of cancer research and the broader fight against cancer.
Our Story
The foundation was established by Adam Forsthoefel after his father, John Forsthoefel, was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2016. Like so many families facing a cancer diagnosis, the Forsthoefel family experienced the emotional, physical, and financial challenges that accompany this disease. John passed away in 2017, but his strength, perseverance, and love for family and community inspired the creation of a foundation dedicated to helping others facing similar battles.
In 2024, Adam’s mother Julie was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer, further reinforcing the importance of continuing this mission. The foundation now carries both of their names in honor of their courage and the profound impact they have had on the lives of those around them.
Today, the John and Julie Cancer Foundation works to raise funds that support cancer research and related charitable efforts aimed at improving treatments, advancing medical breakthroughs, and bringing hope to families affected by cancer.

Rock N Revival Music Festival
The Rock N Revival Music Festival is an annual music festival held each March at The Southgate House Revival in Newport, Kentucky. The event features dozens of bands from the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky music community coming together for one purpose: to use music to help fight cancer.
Now entering its 11th year, the Rock N Revival Music Festival has become a powerful showcase of the generosity and talent of our regional music scene. Every band that performs donates their time, and all proceeds from the festival benefit the John and Julie Cancer Foundation, which supports cancer research and related charitable efforts.
